The phrase, 'toxic asset' has become so overly used that it even has a Wikipedia entry.
Every time I hear the term, I think about the personal toxic assets we own. Think about it for a minute. The government is frantically trying to figure out what to do with the financial toxic assets that contributed to the current economic downturn. Meanwhile, our very own toxic assets sometimes stay with us a life time.

You may be wondering, what personal toxic assets?
My personal favorite is the 'yeah, but.' We say it to ourselves or we hear it from others. Every time we muster the courage to think or articulate our desire to pursue a new interest or take steps to improve our health, professional lives, the yeah, but monster stops by for a visit. This self-defeating voice is responsible for many unfulfilled dreams.
What other toxic assets may be lurking around in your personal and professional life?
